Power is the key section of
electrical engineering. Without power, other sector of electrical engineering
is unimaginable. A huge amount of engineers are needed in power sector to
ensure the smooth operation of existing system and to expand new system. In every
year, the power companies recruited engineers to maintain growing demand.
Every
electrical engineer dreams to get a job in power sector. There are some
companies in Bangladesh in power sector who give very good job facilities. With
increasing demand of power, the job opportunities in power sector are also
increasing. Many private power companies came in last two or three years as government
companies failed to fulfill the power requirement of the country.
The power
sector can be classified into two major divisions. One is power generation and
other is distribution. PDB is the largest company in power sector which has
both generation and distribution divisions. PDB is fully government owned
company. The other power companies are DESCO, PGCB, REB, WZPDCL, RPCL, APGCL,
NGPGCL etc. There are also some private power companies. I am explaining the
meaning of above names.
